How it works

Oz Lotto draws take place every Tuesday at 20:30 AEST/AEDT. Players choose seven numbers from a pool of 1 to 47. After the main draw, three supplementary numbers are drawn from the same pool. These supplementary numbers determine some of the lower prize divisions but do not affect the top prize.

The game is run by The Lott, which operates lotteries across Australia under state and territory licences. Full draw details and entry information are available at the operator's Oz Lotto page. Entry is restricted to persons aged 18 and over in Victoria, in line with the state's gambling laws.

Odds and divisions

The odds of matching all seven numbers for a division-1 win are 1 in 62,891,499. To put that in perspective, you would be roughly as likely to flip a coin and land heads 26 times in a row. The minimum guaranteed division-1 prize is A$2,000,000, though it often rolls over to larger amounts when there is no winner. Lower divisions offer better odds but correspondingly smaller prizes.

If you win

Winning tickets must be claimed through the licensed operator that sold the entry. We do not handle prize payments or claims. For registered online players, smaller prizes are typically credited automatically. Larger wins require identity verification and may involve direct contact with the operator. The process and timeframes are governed by the Victorian Gambling and Casino Control Commission, the state regulator responsible for lottery licensing. Their website is vgccc.vic.gov.au.

Where to play

Oz Lotto tickets can be purchased through The Lott's website or at authorised retail agents across Victoria. Drawsguide does not sell lottery tickets or take bets of any kind. We provide draw information and editorial commentary only. If you choose to play, you do so directly with the licensed operator.
