The workshop

Redgum Works is Elena Farrow, working from a shed in South Hobart with a very old drafting table and a newer laptop.

Where it started

I taught maths to year nines for eleven years. The single-stroke puzzle is how I explained graph theory on a Friday afternoon when nobody wanted graph theory — draw the envelope without lifting the pen, and suddenly thirty teenagers are arguing about odd-numbered corners.

The rule behind the game

A figure can be drawn in one stroke only if it has either zero or exactly two dots with an odd number of lines leaving them. If there are two, you must start at one of them. That is the whole of it, and it is nicer to discover by failing than to be told.

Money

There is none in this game. Nothing to buy, nothing to win, no advertising on the sheet. I have a day job and this is the evening thing.
